Imports of live animals, germinal products, Products of Animal Origin from EU Member States where safeguard measures are in place and animal by products from the EU

As you will be aware the UK Government and the European Union have reached an agreement on a six month extension to Article 50. During this time we will remain as a member of the EU, and the Government is confident it can deliver a deal within this period. Therefore the UK will continued to use TRACES and you should continue to raise import notifications in the way you do currently.

Freight bodies welcome new Brexit security waiver 

Freight and logistics representatives have broadly welcomed the announcement this week by the UK government to have a six-month phasing in of the pre-arrival forms known as Entry Summary Declarations for goods imported from the EU in the event of a ‘no deal’ Brexit.

Safety and Security After Brexit

What happens after Brexit? 

With the UK due to leave the EU on the 29th March 2019, there is still considerable confusion as to the outcome of negotiations and a No Deal Brexit cannot be ruled out.  For UK based exporters and importers of goods to and from EU countries, significant changes to Customs regulations are inevitable with the main consideration being a change from CHIEF (Customs Handling of Import and Export Freight) to the new CDS (Customs Declaration Service).
