PE is an aircraft engine manufacturer, and they had arranged with a courier company to send one of their engines to Switzerland. Unfortunately, the courier they employed had failed to arrange the customs clearance for this shipment before departing. The result was that the engine, which was urgently required, was now stranded at the Swiss border.It was 4.30 on a Friday afternoon when a frantic PE contacted Aerona, but even at this late hour we sprang into action and immediately arranged for retrospective customs clearance. At the same time we sent a copy of the customs approval to our local agent on the Swiss boarder. And all this was accomplished within half an hour of receiving the initial instruction.The result was that the engine got through customs and was able to be delivered the following morning to the intended customer. Crisis averted!
